Will the patient be returned to my care after treatment? Yes. Referred patients are returned to their own dentist after the requested endodontic care has been completed.
Can I refer for root canal re-treatment? Yes. We accept referrals for root canal re-treatment and complex endodontic assessment.
Can I send radiographs with the referral? Yes. Referring dentists should include relevant radiographs and clinical notes where possible.
Do you accept direct patient enquiries for root canal treatment? You can decide whether to include this depending on how protective you want to be of referring dentists. I would probably say: “Patients may contact us, but we usually recommend communication with their own dentist where appropriate.”
